Our Staff

At Camp Sonrise, we are committed to hiring staff that not only provide a safe environment for your children, but also an enriching one. Our hope is that the Christian values taught and displayed by our staff will make a positive difference in the lives of our campers, and that each and every camper will view the Camp Sonrise staff as mentors and friends. In addition to our day camp training program, each of our staff members undergoes an extensive application process that includes government background checks. Our staff to camper ratio at Camp Sonrise is at least 1 to 5 for campers ages 5 and 6, and 1 to 10 for ages 7 to 12.

Joyce Malin, Program Director, is a retired art teacher from the Nashoba Regional School District. She is a Sabbath School teacher, mother of three sons, grammy of three grandsons and has been leading out with Pathfinders (similar to Scouts) for close to 25 years. She has many years of experience integrating and coordinating curriculum and plans a fun and varied experience for each week.

Lauren Jones, Assistant Director, has worked as a counselor at Camp Sonrise since 2011 and will continue to serve as the assistant director this year. She is an Elementary Education graduate of Fitchburg State University. As a member of the College Church, she has assisted in the kindergarten room. Her love of children in addition to her passion for God make her a well-qualified member of our staff. Lauren will run Monday registrations.

This camp complies with the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and must be licensed by the local board of health.
